Disc Wall Hangings

Discs are simple one-piece wall hangings, generally in one color. They are cut round and dished by hand with a soft hammer in a form cut in a stump. Then they are patinaed and hung using picture hanging wire, looped through two drilled brass or copper rivets.

Sometimes we turn the piece concave side out, and call it a plate. Many years ago David made many of these plates, but the style has not been in production for some time. They are purely decorative, and should never be used for food; acids in food may strip the patina, and contaminate the food. The plates have three small feet to rest on, or may be hung on the wall.
