Scrap Wallpieces |
When making wallpiece parts out of small pieces of brass scrap, corners of the sheet of assembled scrap are cut out (to enable the part to be folded into a pan) and discarded. Those 'scrap scraps' which have inherent visual interest are kept, and some are incorporated into scrap wallpieces. The scrap part is mounted on screws and attached to the front of a single patinaed wallpiece pan. The scrap is sometimes patinaed a contrasting color from its back piece; other times it is flame-oxidized or polished. Some of the scrap wallpieces are made to hang in any direction, but often the pans were not originally built with this in mind, so some only have one or two orientations in which they can easily be hung. Small Face Wallpieces |
Since 2006, David has been making repoussé faces in copper. Most of these are larger, and incorporated into our constructed wallpieces, but some are made small, and placed on small single panels, in the manner of scrap wallpieces (above). Every face is made freehand, and is therefore unique. Retail prices shown |
